|Environmental Stewardship|Vietnam 100 Best Places to Work 2013 No. 1 Multinational Company in Latin America
Kimberly-Clark ranked No. 24 among Vietnam’s 100 Best Places to Work in 2013, and No. 8 among consumer packaged-goods firms in Vietnam. This is the first “employer of choice” survey customized for Vietnam, organized by Anphabe in association with market research firm Nielsen. The survey measured employee responses to six career motivation drivers: total rewards, growth opportunity, culture & values, leadership, work & life quality, and company reputation.
K-C Wins Catalyst Award for Developing Women Leaders
Kimberly-Clark was ranked No. 1 among the “2014 Best Multinational Workplaces in Latin America” by the Great Places to Work Institute. Kimberly-Clark’s LAO business has earned the top spot four of the past five years, and also ranked third in the fifth year, a prestigious distinction among honorees that also included McDonald’s, Microsoft and Dell. Kimberly-Clark has Latin American Operations in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru. K-C first appeared among the Latin American Great Places to Work in 2003.
World’s Best Multinational Workplaces
Kimberly-Clark has received the prestigious Catalyst Award for 2014, honoring the Company’s initiative for expanding leadership and opportunities for women, “Unleash Your Power: Strengthening the Business With Women Leaders.” Unleash Your Power is driven by the K-C strategy to build a diverse and inclusive organization that looks, thinks and behaves like the consumers who use and purchase our essential products in their daily lives. Key elements of the initiative include fostering global networking forums and mentoring relationships for women; promoting specific policies that enable work-life flexibility to attract and retain women in leadership roles; defining specific business and action plans for recruiting, developing and retaining talented women across the enterprise; and many others. As a result, K-C has recorded a 71 percent increase in the number of women who hold director-level and higher leadership positions globally over the past four years. Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles
Kimberly-Clark ranks No. 4 on the 2012 list of the “World’s 25 Best Multinational Workplaces” by the Great Place to Work Institute, up from No. 9 in 2011. The Great Place to Work Institute’s Best Multinational Workplaces List is based on the results of an international survey, which measures employees’ views on five key workplace attributes including credibility, fairness, respect, pride and camaraderie. Kimberly-Clark in particular was cited for best practices throughout its Latin American Operations to foster employee engagement and celebrate their contributions to the company’s success.
This recognition follows several international workplace awards received by Kimberly-Clark in 2012. Kimberly-Clark’s Latin American Operations received No. 1 Best Multinational Company by the Great Places to Work Institute for the third consecutive year. Other countries who received Great Places to Work awards were: No. 1- Bolivia, Chile, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Puerto Rico; No. 2 – Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala; No. 3 – Argentina, Panama; and No. 7 – Ecuador, France. Additionally, Yuhan-Kimberly received two international awards including being ranked No. 3 on the 2012 list of the Great Workplace in Korea by the Korean Management Association Consulting and No. 3 in MK economic magazine’s listing of the most admired company in Korea.
2010 Best Company to Work for
In 2012, Kimberly-Clark received a Gold “Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles” award by demonstrating effective, widespread and innovative solutions that improved the healthy lifestyles of employees both domestically and globally.
Kimberly-Clark was also awarded with a “Global Distinction” award for employee health and well-being efforts worldwide, specifically in the United Kingdom and Latin American Operations.
In addition, Kimberly-Clark received special honors for “Best Community Outreach” award in Neenah, Wisconsin, for commitment through financial, product and volunteer contributions to the community.
Best Employer in South Africa
In 2010, K-C Brazil was named the second Best Company to Work for in Brazil by The Great Place to Work Institute.
Kimberly-Clark South Africa was accredited as a Best Employer in South Africa for 2010-11 and 2012-13 by the CRF Institute.
For the sixth consecutive year, Kimberly-Clark has been recognised by leading Spanish business and finance magazine Actualidad Económica as being a great place to work in Spain. The Spanish business magazine ranked Kimberly-Clark Spain No. 6 on "The Best Companies to Work for" 2013 listing based on evaluations by HR experts in the areas of talent management, compensation and benefits, work environment, social responsibility and training.
2011 Corporate Equality Index
Yuhan-Kimberly also was selected as one of the best workplaces with its family-friendly and life-long learning culture by job portal "Incruit."
Best Multinational Workplace in Latin America
Kimberly-Clark achieved a 100 percent rating on the 2011 Corporate Equality Index, the annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation that measures major businesses' efforts for supporting workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. This is the second year that K-C has received this top rating and it will be featured again on HRC's "Best Place to Work" list as well as the organization's annual "Buying Guide for Equality."
CRF Institute Awards
Kimberly-Clark’s Latin American Operations is ranked the No. 3 best multinational workplace among the 2013 Best Companies to Work for in Latin America as named by the Great Place To Work Institute.
Czech National Safety Culture Award 2012
In Italy, the CRF Institute awarded Kimberly-Clark its “Top Employer” award for the second consecutive year. The Top Employers label is only awarded to organizations that meet the Institute’s best-practice criteria across elements such as primary or direct benefits, secondary or indirect benefits and working conditions, training and development, career development and company culture.
In Spain, the CRF Institute awarded its “Human Resources Excellence” award to the Iberian Human Resources team. This award benchmarks internal HR teams against the best externally, and was presented to the team for excellent work in supporting the business and facilitating the delivery of the People Strategy.
2012 Employment Awards in Korea
Kimberly-Clark’s Jaromer facility in the Czech Republic recently won first place in the National Safety Culture Award 2012 for its deeply-rooted safety culture – one that incorporates safety in its everyday workplace activities. The Jaromer team was recognized for Kimberly-Clark’s “Who’s Counting on You” safety initiative, the Jaromer team’s active steps regarding employees’ family involvement in safety awareness events and leadership accountability.
2012 Best Companies to Work For in Taipei
Yuhan-Kimberly ranks third on the 2012 Great Workplaces in Korea by the Korean Management Association Consulting (KMAC). Yuhan-Kimberly has been top ranked for four consecutive years. KMAC surveyed about 4,000 people and HR experts across all industries and assessed each company’s attractiveness in their vision, talent management, corporate culture and overall corporate image.
Also, Yuhan-Kimberly ranks third in MK Economic magazine’s listing of the most admired companies in Korea for 2012. MK Economic magazine surveyed 411 MBA students working across all industries and journalists.
In addition, Job Korea, the No. 1 careers portal in Korea ranked Yuhan-Kimberly fourth on the 2012 survey of the top 5 multinational firms favored by 560 job seekers in their 20s and 30s.
Women on Boards Winning Company
Kimberly-Clark Taiwan was honored with a One-Star Award in the 2012 Best Companies to Work For in Taipei. The Award, held by the Labor Bureau of Taipei City Government, aims to promote a more fair, friendly and better working environment for all the workers and job-seekers.
Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award
Recognized by 2020 Women on Boards, a national campaign to increase the percentage of women on U.S. company boards to 20 percent or greater by the year 2020, as a Winning Company for our commitment to board diversity. In 2012, three members (25 percent) of our Board of Directors were women.
Top Workplaces in Connecticut
Kimberly-Clark was one of the first companies to receive the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award by the Department of Health, which recognizes leading-edge health and wellbeing programs across Europe.
Hearst Connecticut Newspapers has recognized Kimberly-Clark’s New Milford facility as No. 5 of 35 companies and organizations in Southern Connecticut on the list of Top Workplaces 2013. These companies have been recognized as top workplaces based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees.
Corporate Responsibility Magazine Business Civic Leadership Center
For five consecutive years, Kimberly-Clark has been recognized as one of the top 20 "Best Corporate Citizens" by Corporate Responsibility Magazine. In 2013, Kimberly-Clark was ranked No. 18, which made it the leader among other consumer packaged-goods companies in the top 100. The survey ranks Russell 1000 companies on their performance in seven key areas: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, finance and governance.
Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
Business Civic Leadership Center's Corporate Citizenship Awards recognize businesses, trade associations, chambers of commerce, and partner organizations for demonstrating ethical leadership, corporate stewardship and for making a positive difference in society. The International Community Service Award honors a business or American Chamber of Commerce overseas that has exemplified the ideals of corporate citizenship through a specific community service program outside of the U.S., promoting better corporate-community relations and contributing to the positive development of its host country .
GolinHarris Corporate Citizenship Index
For five consecutive years (2005-2009), Kimberly-Clark Corporation ranked No. 1 in the personal products category of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). The DJSI World rankings are based on the long-term economic, environmental and social performance of leading global companies across 57 industries.
Korean Management Association Consulting
In 2006, the Kimberly-Clark brand placed in the top 14 out of 152 brands in the fourth consecutive GolinHarris Corporate Citizenship Index, a national survey of Americans that evaluates companies based on their socially-responsible practices.
Corporate Citizenship in Argentina
The Korean Management Association Consulting organization named Yuhan-Kimberly as one of the most admired companies in Korea in 2013. This marks the 10th consecutive year that Yuhan-Kimberly has been named to the top 10 of this prestigious list. The company's philosophy of reconciling work, family and the environment contributed to the recognition.
Spirit of America Summit Award
Kimberly-Clark has earned impressive accolades from some of Argentina's most respected authorities on corporate citizenship and community leadership.
Korean Sustainability Readers' Choice Awards
The United Way of America recognized Kimberly-Clark's commitment to improving lives in local communities nationwide in 2005 and 2007 with its highest tribute for corporate community involvement - the Spirit of America Summit Award.
FTSE4Good Index Series
Yuhan-Kimberly's Sustainability Report was selected as the Best Report in Korea by Korea Management Association Consulting in 2009 and recognized for the best sustainability communication practices from a global organization (Korean Sustainability Readers' Choice Awards from GRI and a notable Communication on Progress from UN Global Compact).
American Business Ethics Award
In 2010, the FTSE Group included Kimberly-Clark on its prestigious FTSE4Good Index Series for the eighth consecutive year. The index recognizes companies for working towards environmental sustainability, developing positive relationships with stakeholders, and upholding and supporting universal human rights.
Ethisphere's World's Most Ethical Companies
The Foundation for Financial Service Professionals recognized Kimberly-Clark as the large company recipient of the 2011 American Business Ethics Award. The award recognizes companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct and in response to specific crises or challenges. Customers, employees, shareholders, or other members of the local community may nominate companies for the American Business Ethics Award.
Kimberly-Clark also was the recipient of the 2011 Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award.
Global Reporting Initiative A+ Designation
Kimberly-Clark is recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, the leading business ethics think-tank, as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 2012 and 2013. The methodology for the rankings includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
Kimberly-Clark uses GRI's (Global Reporting Initiative) reporting guidelines to communicate our sustainability efforts and achievements, which is the standard in sustainability reporting. Our 2011 report, “Full Circle,” achieved an "A+" designation. The "A" signifies that the report reaches the highest level of completeness and the "+" assures stakeholders of the report's accuracy through verification by an external third-party. GRI is the globally recognized sustainability reporting framework with a mission to make sustainability reporting a standard practice for all organizations.
EPA Green Power Partnership
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ranked Kimberly-Clark No. 25 in the Top 50 Green Power Partnership organizations voluntarily using clean, renewable electricity from resources such as solar, wind, and low-impact hydropower. EPA's Green Power Partnership works with more than 1,300 partner organizations to voluntarily use green power. Green power resources produce electricity with an environmental profile superior to conventional power technologies, and produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions. Kimberly-Clark uses about 197 million kWh – about 8 percent of our total annual electricity use – from green power sources like wind and biomass.
