Erika C., who’s currently working as a Production Planning Technician at Kimberly-Clark, is breaking barriers and paving the way for women in the manufacturing field. She started her career as a contract production assistant for a third-party company, and days before her contract was about to end, she was hired permanently.
Erika then moved on to join Kimberly-Clark and became one of the first women to be a lead machine operator in the diaper production section in Suzano, Brazil. “I always remind myself that I'm a reference and a mirror for other women and I need to prove to ourselves that a woman's place is wherever she wants to be,” she says.
She lives out Kimberly-Clark's purpose of Better Care for a Better World in her daily life by incorporating the safe and secure guidelines and working methods that she has learned from her team. She believes firmly in doing the right thing and constantly aiming for operational excellence. She tries to think of and implement simple ways to carry out day-to-day activities following the proposed flows and standards, which makes it easier and more consistent to achieve results.
Erika expresses that she took part in two work events at Kimberly-Clark that have made a huge positive impression on her: a discussion on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and the first operational excellence cycle. These two events helped her greatly in terms of her professional growth and cemented her as the professional she is today.
Talking about her future plans at Kimberly-Clark, Erika said she wants to continue climbing the ladder of success, contributing, and learning more in each step.
